EXPERIENCE: Local 289 was established in July of 1913. Prior to the advent of motion pictures we assisted in developing Elmira as one of THE STOPS for theatrical road productions preceding its run on the Great White Way! Within ten years, motion pictures had practically reduced theatrical road productions to a “has been mode of entertainment”. Locally we entered the world of motion pictures as operators and projectionists.
